I absolutely dislike the whole kissing cheeks aspect of the Dutch culture. I'm a Dutchie too, and I haven't had any strangers doing the kisses thing fortunately. With family and friends I'm always firm on "No kisses" and 9/10 people seem to understand it. Handshakes and even hugs are fine, though I prefer handshakes over hugs, I'd never ever do the kisses.

An awful 'tradition' nowadays with the illegal bombs. Not one evening but one or two months. I really hope we will arrive to stop it. Better to enjoy a safe public show, and why not a lasershow? We start the year with much pollution in the air and on the ground. People are injured, sonetimes even killed... the terrible fire in the Volendam cafe.... In my city a civilian committee has advised to forbid it. More and more people do not want it anymore.

I love the Netherlands. Don't get me wrong. I could easily spend the rest of my life here. But fuck me the health care system is terrible. It is common for people in the Netherlands to go to Belgium to get better care. You know you fucked up when Belgium is doing better then you.

Your vid really feels like an anti-fireworks campaign. It really isn't as bad as you make it seem. It's just that all the worst cases that have happened within the entire country over the last decades have all been recorded, so it looks insane, but overall permanent injuries happen very rarely.

On Aruba (Dutch Caribbean) ... I wouldn't choose for a bike ... it's not the weather ... it's the dogs and the cars. On our Island are more cras than people! And the dogs like to hunt you if you are brave enough to ride a bike

As a former habitant of 'Europees Nederland' (The Netherlands in Europe) I recognized a lot! Don't forget that the Dutch Kingdom is a little bit larger ... there is also 'Caribisch Nederlands' (Dutch Caribbean) en the Islands of Aruba (where I live now fro more than 25 years) Curacao and st. Maarten. We have our own perspecitve on weather ('Ay ... Calor!!') - I enjoyed your vidoe very much!
